What to pack

The above destination calls for lightweight, cool clothing, with a wool pullover or fleece for chilly evenings. It’s hot during the day, so protective / armored clothing should be lightweight and well ventilated. Remember to bring sunscreen, swimwear and a lightweight towel.

Day 1

Upon arrival at Katunayake airport, you'll be transported to the hotel to unwind before exploring the captivating coastal town of Negombo. Your first activity will be a visit to the fishing village, followed by some downtime to recharge.

Day 2

We'll gather in the morning at our office to provide you with a tour briefing. Following that, we'll mount our horses and journey to Gomare via Matale. Along the way, you'll be immersed in diverse ecosystems such as Montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands, and aquatic ecosystems, as well as observe unique flora and fauna.

Day 3

Take in the awe-inspiring bird's eye view of Kandy, including the revered Temple of Tooth, from "Arthur's Seat." After lunch or a drink at a nearby restaurant, we'll visit the holy Tooth Relic Temple and shop in the bustling Kandy city. Next, we'll journey to Ella via the stunning Horton's Plains and hike to the breathtaking "World's End" escarpment. Brace yourself for a thrilling ride on the hairpin roads to Ella.

Day 4

As we leave Ella, the winding road leads us through the mountains and onto the vast southern plains that lead to the Indian Ocean coast. Along the way, we'll visit the enchanting Ravana Falls and the historic Buddhist rock carvings at Buduruwagala. Our journey continues as we ride to Tissamaharama via Buttala, where you'll have the chance to witness wild elephants in their natural habitat.

Day 5

Embark on an early morning safari at Yala National Park to witness a fascinating array of wildlife up close. After your adventure, we'll travel along the magnificent southern coast of Sri Lanka to reach the stunning Mirissa beach, where you can relax and soak up the beauty of the area.

Day 6

As the sun rises over the picturesque Mirissa beach, you'll have the choice to go whale-watching (not included in the package, but a possible add-on). Or, if you prefer, simply relax and soak up the serene atmosphere of the beach, basking in the warm sunlight and gentle sea breeze.

Day 7

After departing Sri Lanka, you'll fly to Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport. Spend the afternoon exploring the wonders of Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk by bicycle rickshaw. Highlights may include the Red Fort (closed Mondays), Jama Masjid, and Rajgat. Alternatively, head to New Delhi to marvel at the Qutub Minar, Parliament House, and India Gate. Soak up the vibrant culture and rich history of Delhi in this unforgettable experience.

Day 8

We embark on a journey of approximately four hours from bustling Delhi to arrive at one of the most breathtaking sights in the world: the Taj Mahal. With its ivory-white marble facade glimmering in the sun and exquisite gardens surrounding it, this mausoleum is a true testament to love and architectural grandeur. Get ready to be transported to a world of wonder as you experience the magic of the Taj Mahal firsthand.

Day 9

Experience the magic of the Taj Mahal at sunrise as you immerse yourself in its captivating history, rich story, and profound significance. After breakfast, we bid farewell to the Taj Mahal and head to Jaipur with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri en route. Take in the stunning architecture of Fatehpur Sikri, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and bask in the beauty of this magnificent city. Every moment is filled with wonder and enchantment, get ready to embark on a journey that will leave you spellbound.

Day 10

After breakfast, explore the 16th-century Amber fort nestled in the Aravalli Hills. We will visit the Jal Mahal (Water Palace) and Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), followed by the City Palace and Museum, showcasing Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. End the day with a beautiful sunset Arti (prayer ceremony) at Birla Temple.

Day 11

In the morning we will take a ride out to the Amber fort nestling among Aravalli Hills built in the16th century by Raja Man Singh. Short day.

Day 12

After breakfast, say goodbye to your ADV crew. You’ll be transferred to Jaipur International Airport to fly to
Delhi for your flight home. Of course, you can stay longer in India and explore on your own from here. Don’t forget to let us know if you are coming early or staying later so we can make arrangements for you! Have a great day!

  • Any damage to the motorcycle must be covered by the rider in full - sign a waiver and pay deposit before we depart

  • Costs incurred or expenses arising due to natural calamities, strikes, breakdowns, and any other unforeseen calamities beyond the control of ADV on the Rocks and its associates (force majeure)

  • Any itinerary extensions will be subject to additional cost.
